We spent our last day in Sydney at Bondi Beach. I didn't expect it to be as warm as it was so I didn't pack our bathing suits. We had to settle for just hanging out and enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful, blue water. It is one of the prettiest beaches that I've seen. We didn't actually stay on the beach because Sydney freaks out when she's on sand. And I mean FREAK out. Even when it's a sand pit or sand playground. She wouldn't let me take her out of the stroller at first but when I was able to coax her out of it, she tolerated the sand for about 2 minutes before I had to get her off the beach.
The rest of the day was uneventful. More shopping, more eating, more playing in the park. Sydney has developed a love/hate relationship with dogs. She loves them from afar. She'll clap and kick her legs and point when she sees a dog but when we get close to it, she'll cry and tremble. But when we walk away from the dog, she'll stare wistfully at it. She needs to get used to enjoying dogs from afar because we're not getting one.
We have an early flight back to Shanghai tomorrow morning. I'm really nervous about the 10 hour flight after hearing her scream like she did on the flight over here. I have a backpack full of new books and toys so that should help. I hope. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
